At Castleguard Homes, we see the need for as much energy savings as possible in your new home or addition. Our additions and homes get completely wrapped with an air barrier known as Typar housewrap. This product will let the exterior walls breath, without letting the wind blow through, thus creating a tighter and more sealed home. Little extra things we do such as spray foam all windows and doors when installed. All doors get a heavy caulking between the floor and the sill of the door frame as this will help with energy saving.

We also can install a roofing product known as Decra roofing systems - this is a 26 gauge galvanized steel product, which is interlocking and as well is all screwed into place and to each other, creating a superior product. Decra tiles also comes with a 50-year warranty. The metal has several Zink coatings as well as a stone coating which has a backed on acrylic overglaze to prevent peeling, fading or cracking.

With the insulation aspect, we try to exceed the Ontario building code, taking careful steps to insure proper installation is achieved. As well, in tight or hard to work cathedral areas, we will foam spray the ceilings, giving a much better R Value and in turn giving your shingles a better life expectancy.
